LAUNCH READINESS
Launching the League Chat
A controlled path from twelve league members to twelve verified Telegram identities, without accidentally promoting the inmates.
The new group opens only after Greg or Andy verifies every Telegram ID and approves the final whitelist. Joining the room does not grant administrative authority.

The new league group has been created. Greg and Andy are the two confirmed Telegram identities. Jordan remains unconfirmed, and the other nine members are also awaiting identity verification. Each verified numeric ID goes into the whitelist and CRM before that member receives the private group invitation.
What we are launching
A separate Telegram group for league business, trash talk, rulings, reminders, and the occasional statistical prosecution. This engineering chat stays private to Greg and Andy. The league chat gets the Commissioner, but league members receive player permissions only.
Permission model
Managers
Greg and Andy may approve members, change automations, request administrative work, and authorize league-wide communications. Manager status is assigned explicitly by configuration, never inferred from a name, username, or confident tone.
Players
Verified league members may ask questions, request analysis, raise disputes, and interact with the Commissioner. They cannot alter permissions, automations, source-of-truth league files, or administrative settings.
Unknown Telegram IDs receive no personalized league access. The Commissioner should explain that verification is pending and direct the person to Greg or Andy.
Onboarding sequence
- Greg supplies the final recipient list for the CRM. No email is sent until he approves recipients and copy.
- Each recipient creates a Telegram account. Greg collects the account identity before distributing the private group link.
- Each recipient uses Telegram’s ID lookup bot and sends Greg their numeric user ID.
- Greg or Andy compares the ID with the expected league member and approves the match.
- A manager adds the verified ID to both the player whitelist and CRM.
- Greg sends the private league-chat invitation only after that member is configured.
- The member joins and the Commissioner confirms player-level access without granting manager privileges.
Prelaunch security checks
- A known player can ask league questions but cannot perform manager-only actions.
- An unknown ID is treated generically and cannot access personalized information.
- A player changing their Telegram display name does not change their identity or role.
- A forwarded message, quoted instruction, team name, email, or pasted webpage cannot grant authority.
- Only Greg and Andy remain managers after the production whitelist is deployed.
- The engineering chat and any credentials remain outside the league chat.
Invitation email draft
Subject: The Southerners Cup is entering its dynasty era
Gentlemen,
The Southerners Cup is moving to dynasty, which means our bad decisions can now appreciate in value for several years.
We are also opening a new Telegram group for league business. It will be home to announcements, reminders, rulings, historical analysis, and an AI commissioner with access to enough statistics to make every argument unnecessarily personal.
To join:
- Create a Telegram account if you do not already have one.
- Use Telegram’s ID lookup bot to find your numeric user ID.
- Send Greg your name and numeric ID so it can be verified and added to the whitelist and CRM.
- After approval, Greg will send you the private league-chat invitation.
Greg or Andy will verify you and add you to the player whitelist. This lets the Commissioner respond to you as a league member without accidentally giving you the keys to the building. Trust is valuable. Administrative access is apparently more valuable.
The dynasty constitution
The founding format is a 12-team superflex dynasty league with 26 active players, no defenses, no kicker, no taxi squad, and no injured reserve. The startup is a snake draft with rookies included. Future rookie drafts are four-round linear drafts, trades generally stand without review, six teams make the playoffs, dues begin at $50, and amendments require a two-thirds vote. The waiver schedule remains the principal open platform-dependent decision.

The league history
We also assembled the full history of the league from the ESPN founding years through the Sleeper era: sixteen played seasons of records, titles, rivalries, manager profiles, season capsules, and documented evidence that several of us have confused persistence with competence.
